AWR (Agency Workers Regulations)

The AWR feature allows YouRecruit to track and calculate worker qualification based on UK Agency Workers Regulations.

Enabling AWR

AWR must be enabled for your account before it can be used. Contact support@yourecruit.com to ensure this happens.

How AWR Qualification Works

YouRecruit evaluates whether an employee qualifies under AWR rules.

In general terms, a worker qualifies after:

  • More than 12 continuous weeks of work

  • No break of more than 6 weeks between assignments

The official regulations contain additional rules and exceptions. Refer to the UK Government Agency Workers Regulations 2010 guidance for full details.

Weekly Tracking

Each employee has individual weekly statistics recorded for:

  • Employer

  • Organisation

  • Role

This ensures qualification is calculated accurately for each placement.

AWR status is updated automatically every Monday, based on the previous week’s activity (including absences).

Using Corporations for Grouped Organisations

If multiple organisations operate under a single employer, you can group them into a Corporation.

To create a Corporation:

  1. Go to Organisations → Corporations

  2. Click Add New Corporation

  3. Open the relevant Organisation
  4. Click Update beside the Corporation field
  5. Save the Organisation

This ensures AWR calculations treat linked organisations correctly.

Employee AWR Report

Detailed AWR information is available per employee:

Employee Profile → Others → AWR Check

This report displays:

  • Weeks worked

  • Qualification status

  • Employer-specific data

  • Role-specific data

Recording Absences & Special Conditions

Certain absence types affect AWR calculations and must be recorded correctly.

Navigate to:

Employee Profile → Employee Availability

  1. Select the relevant date range

  2. Set status to N/A

  3. Choose a Not Available Type:
  • Holiday

  • Sick

  • Maternity

  • Jury

These values are included in AWR qualification logic.

AWR Check Report

A consolidated AWR report is available at:

Reports → Show Additional → AWR Check Report

This report allows you to view:

  • All employees

  • Employer and role assignments

  • Weeks accumulated toward qualification

Interaction with Rate Ranges

When AWR is enabled, rate selection is driven by:

  • AWR qualification status

  • AWR first worked week

  • Employer

  • Role

Where applicable, AWR rules take precedence over standard rate ranges.
