Rate Ranges
Rate ranges allow you to define different pay rates and charge rates based on how long an employee has been working.
Enabling Rate Ranges
Rate ranges must be enabled for your account before they can be used.
If AWR (Agency Workers Regulations) is active on your account, AWR rules will take priority over any rate ranges. Refer to the AWR help page for further details.
Creating Rate Ranges
Navigate to:
Rates → Rate Ranges
You can define ranges based on service duration, for example:
- Over 12 weeks
- Over 1 year
- Over 5 years
These ranges act as conditions that can later be applied to rate groups.
Applying Rate Ranges to Rate Groups
Once your ranges are configured, you can use them within any Rate Group.
When editing a Rate Group:
- Click Add charge range
- Select one of your predefined ranges from the dropdown
- Enter the pay rate and charge rate for that range
A default rate must always be set.
If no rate is defined for a matching range, the system will automatically use the default rate.
How Service Duration is Calculated
Within Company Settings, you can choose how qualifying periods are calculated:
Organisation Mode
- An employee may have multiple start dates
- Each organisation the employee works for is tracked separately
Company Mode
- Only one start date is used per employee
- This reflects when the employee first began working with your company
- The start date resets automatically after 6 weeks without work
Viewing and Managing Employee Date Ranges
Employee-specific details are available under:
Employee Profile → Others → Date Ranges
Two qualifying periods are tracked:
- Qualifying Period (Company) – Applies across the entire company
- Qualifying Period per Organisation – Applies only to a specific organisation
Dates can be adjusted manually if required.
